Foretell Privacy Policy
Effective October 4, 2026
Foretell (foretell.io, "we", "us") is advertising analytics and management software. Our team uses Foretell to measure and manage advertising for the businesses we work with ("clients"). This policy explains what information Foretell collects, how we use, store, share and delete it, and how we handle data we receive from Google APIs.
Information we collect
Account information
For each person with a Foretell login: email address, a hashed password, the clients they can access, and sign-in activity (time and IP address of recent sign-ins).
Google user data
When a client connects its Google Ads account to Foretell through Google sign-in, Foretell receives:
-
Basic Google account information (the
openidandemailscopes): the email address and Google account ID of the person who authorized the connection, so we know who connected it. - An OAuth refresh token, which lets Foretell keep reaching the account until access is revoked.
-
Google Ads data (the Google Ads API scope,
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords): the account and manager account structure, campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, search terms, budgets, bids and targets, conversion actions, performance statistics and change history of the Google Ads accounts the client selects. -
Conversion upload access (the Data Manager API scope,
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/datamanager): used to send the client's conversions to its own Google Ads account, as described below.
Data from other platforms a client connects
Advertising, analytics and payment data from other services a client connects.
Data about a client's customers
A client's website can send Foretell tracking events about its visitors: an anonymous visitor identifier, ad click identifiers, landing pages, sign-ups and purchases, and, when the client provides it, the purchaser's email address. We process this data on the client's behalf, to measure which advertising produced which customers.
Usage and technical data
The questions and messages users enter in Foretell, the reports and recommendations Foretell produces, and the request logs and error reports (including IP addresses and browser details) we need to run, secure and fix the service. Foretell uses only the cookies needed to keep users signed in and protect sign-in forms. It does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
How we use Google user data
We use the Google user data described above only to provide Foretell's features to the client that connected it:
- Showing the client's advertising performance and history in Foretell's reports, attribution, budgets and targets.
- Analyzing the client's campaigns and producing recommendations, including with AI models, as described below.
- Making changes in the client's Google Ads account that the client has authorized, such as bid, budget, target and campaign setting changes.
- Uploading the client's own conversions (sign-ups and purchases) to its Google Ads account so its campaigns can measure and optimize toward them. Email addresses are hashed (SHA-256) before they are sent.
- Keeping the connection working and recording which Google user authorized it.
We do not:
- sell Google user data;
- use Google user data to serve or target advertising, or to build profiles unrelated to the client's own advertising;
- use Google user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes;
- use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models;
- combine one client's Google user data with another client's, or show it to another client's users.
Foretell's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we share information
We share information only as follows:
- With the client and our team. A client's data is visible to that client's authorized Foretell users and to the members of our team who operate Foretell for that client. People view it only to provide, support and secure the service, or where the law requires.
- With service providers that run Foretell for us, such as cloud hosting, AI model, search, monitoring and team collaboration services. Each receives only what it needs to provide its service, and AI model providers do not train their models on it.
- With the advertising platforms the client uses, when Foretell makes a change or uploads conversions in the client's own account at the client's direction.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, our clients or others.
- In a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, and for Google user data only after obtaining the client's explicit prior consent.
How we store and protect information
Foretell's data is stored with a cloud hosting provider in the United States. Connections to Foretell use HTTPS. OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted by the application before they are stored. Access to each client's data is limited to that client's authorized users and our team, and access to Foretell's servers and databases is limited to the people who operate them.
Retention and deletion
- Disconnecting Google Ads. When a client disconnects Google Ads in Foretell's integration settings, Foretell revokes its access with Google, deletes the stored refresh token and stops syncing the account. Anyone can also remove Foretell's access at any time from their Google Account permissions page.
- Imported data. Advertising data already imported stays in the client's workspace while the client uses Foretell, because reports compare current results with that history.
- Deletion on request. A client may ask us to delete its data, including its Google user data, at any time. We delete it within 30 days of the request, or of the end of our relationship with the client, except for information we must keep to comply with the law. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire.
- Account information is kept while the person uses Foretell. We delete it on request, except for records we must keep to comply with the law.
Your choices
Foretell users may ask to access, correct or delete their information by emailing us at the address below. If you are a customer of one of our clients, that business decides how your information is used. Please contact it directly. We will help it respond.
Children
Foretell is a business tool. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update its effective date. Before we use Google user data in a way this policy does not describe, we will notify affected clients and ask for their consent.
